Bluestone Mortgages is represented by two outstanding nominees from Victoria in this year’s Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) Excellence Awards, cementing the brand’s dominance in the Lender and Support Service Provider Business Development Manager category.

Ebony Maxwell – State Manager VIC & Tasmania, and Shamith Kannagara – VIC & Tasmania’s BDM were nominated by their brokers, peers and business partners, for their exceptional customer service and dedication to achieving outcomes for the most difficult of lending cases, non-conforming loans.

The MFAA Excellence Awards celebrates excellence in the finance broking industry and its associated businesses. Excellence Awards are presented to members of the MFAA who have demonstrated quality customer service, professionalism, innovation, ethics and excellence in their field.

What sets Ebony apart from all other BDMs is her mindset that there are “Enough deals for everyone” and this drives a lot of her behaviours, including instigating get-togethers with other non-conforming lenders last year, and encouraging referrals to each other.

“Ebony is all about her customers and brokers,” Royden D’Vaz, National Head of Sales & Marketing at Bluestone said. “She never loses sight of the fact that she’s working for the broker and in the end, their customer. She single-handedly grew the base in Victoria and then set about growing the team to four people.”

Last year, Ebony was working with a Yellow Brick Road broker in Melton. His client’s house was about to be foreclosed on, with the settlement date looming.  Ebony received the refinance application with less than two weeks to settlement and had to very quickly make sure everything was in train to save the clients home. The deal was done with literally a day to spare, saving the client’s house from foreclosure.

Royden D’Vaz, National Head of Sales & Marketing at Bluestone also endorsed Shamith’s nomination in the Excellence Awards. “Shamith is a professional and diligent individual, is loved by all his brokers due to his work ethic and the help, advice and guidance he gives them to navigate through difficult scenarios and time and effort he puts in to find a solution for the broker and customer,” he said.

This sentiment is echoed by his brokers.  “I have a very, very happy client now after she thought nobody could help her. Thank you so so much for helping with this one and all the others. You are by far our favourite BDM, I wish every bank’s BDM was as good or close to you. Bluestone is the only lender we use in the non-conforming space and that is only because of you.” said Ekta Gill, Financeship.

Bluestone was also nominated for Best Business Development Manager five further times, and represented every State and Territory across Australia, including nominations for:

Denya Dean – NSW & ACT
Belinda Gray – NSW & ACT
Bill Robb – QLD State Manager
Nicole Salamaga – SA & NT
Cameron Finnie – WA & SA State Manager

The MFAA Excellence Awards Finalists will be announced on 12th April.
