Bluestone Named As A Finalist In Property Investor Awards

Bluestone was delighted to be named as a finalist in the Property Investors Awards, which seek to establish a benchmark for excellence in the industry.

It’s always an honour to be recognised within our industry, and this month we were delighted to be named as a finalist in the Mortgage Product category of the Property Investors Awards. These accolades seek to establish a benchmark for excellence in the industry by allowing investors to reference Australia’s top performers and what they’re doing right.

The awards provided us with an opportunity to examine our achievements over the last 12 months. Most significantly, the business has catapulted into the near prime space with mass rate cuts of up to 225 bps across its portfolio. This has widened Bluestone’s market penetration significantly by making the product accessible to more borrowers and extending its reach to new segments, including investors. The success of this new product is reflected in the 44% increase in self-employed loans and a whopping 92% increase in near prime loans (FY2017 – F2018).

The business has also reached major milestones, including closing a AUD$250 million RMBS transaction (Sapphire XVI) and AUD$300 million RMBS transaction (Sapphire XVII) which took the group’s capital markets issuance to over AUD$950 million in the last 24 months (AUD$800 million of which has occurred in the last 12 months). These transactions correlate with Bluestone’s growing market presence, corresponding to robust sales volumes and general industry recognition.

Bluestone also recognises that a vital ingredient to the successful running of the business is support for brokers. Accordingly, there are dedicated resources committed to ensure that Bluestone consistently meets and exceeds broker expectations.  This is demonstrated through the recent expansion of the BDM, sales and credit assessor/underwriting teams to ensure greater 1:1 interface, quicker turnaround, and overall, an enhanced user experience.  In addition, we’ve facilitated specialist lending educational workshops, along with a continual stream of support collateral designed to assist the sales process and convert end-users

In the wider community, Bluestone has a Corporate Social Responsibility Commitment to the highest standards in ethical, responsible and sustainable lending. All stakeholders are encouraged to contribute to the vision of supporting communities and charitable associations, nationwide, with staff volunteer days actively encouraged. In particular, Bluestone has a vested involvement with Beyond Blue, Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) and Northcott Disability Services. They regularly host internal activities to raise money and awareness for these organisations. Some recent examples include supporting Pink Bun Day (a Baker’s Delight campaign to fund BCNA) and holding an internal auction with all proceeds donated to the charities.
